A bit Irish
I saw this advert for a new brand of noodles at a bus stop the other day. "Delicious?" - yep, "Yummy?" - nice, "Temptation?" - fair enough, "Shannon?" - errrr, sorry?? As in the Irish river?? What??
A colleague at work has now worked out where the "Shannon" came from. The Chinese for "aromatic" is "XiangNong". But choose the wrong character for Nong and you get a different "XiangNong" - this one being the "sounds like" translation of the Irish River, Shannon. And, of course, nobody bothers to check!
