I posted a picture of it on the Gerry Anderson Facebook page, making a joke about it being the only remaining part of "Cloudbase" after an attack by the Mysterons!

In searching through my sci-fi collection recently retrieved from my parents' attic, I found a brochure from a 1982 Gerry Anderson Convention I'd attended (and forgotten about) which included autographs from actors, composers, special effects artists and the man himself - Gerry Anderson.
I took a little trip to Wessex Auction Rooms today. I've not been to an auction house before and was surprised to find 99% of the buying was being done through an online stream (despite having a guy there shouting into with a mike and banging a gavel). It was a toy auction and, on wandering around the many shelves, I was pleased to see a wide variety of Gerry Anderson merchandise. Unfortunately it was largely beyond my budget - the boxed toys bottom left, for example, had a reserve price of £200 each! Ouch!
Had a late birthday present through today - four coasters from my favourite Gerry Anderson programme - "Captain Scarlet". Just in time for me to use them in my new office in the new house.
I recently found a website that sells spare parts for a wide variety of old Dinky and Corgi vehicles. So I ordered some missing bits for 3-4 of my vintage Gerry Anderson models (Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Captain Scarlet) and they arrived yesterday. I spent this morning using them, and some Halfords car paint, to upgrade my collection. This is Captain Scarlet's "Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle" (SPC).
Yesterday I bought this smashed up Dinky "car" in a charity shop in Marlborough, recognising that it was a Spectrum Patrol Car from the 1960s "Captain Scarlet" TV series, rather the worst for wear. I already have one in my collection [below], in rather better condition, but today I found a website which can supply missing parts for a wide variety of vintage vehicles. So I may pop it away in a box or I may try my first ever restoration! We'll see!
![]() We still haven't got bored with our weekly visits to local Car Boot Sales. JD bought a Star Wars pencil case the other day (50p) and when he got home he found a tiny dongle inside [see right]. After some research we listed it on E-bay and received a sweet £15 profit when it sold within hours! So JD is now scouring car boot sales for bargains that he can sell online (such as the Star Wars sleeping bag, centre photo below). My focus is on Gerry Anderson memorabilia to add to my collection. Every week I find something cool and vintage that gets my heart beating a bit faster [see annuals above and craft/characters below].
My best purchase at today's Car Boot Sale was a handful of Thunderbirds collectible cards dating back to 1966. I bought all 13 cards for £1, but later found similar ones for sale on e-bay at £1-3 per card! So I got a pretty good bargain.
We had a fantastic morning at Dauntsey Car boot Sale this morning, picking up bargains galore: Star Wars figures, Chinese plates, a Dalek clock, slippers, a Captain Scarlet Angel Interceptor, a slow cooker, shelving, old toy cars, mugs, Paddington Bear teddy, pictures, ice-creams, leather jacket, plant pots, a foot warmer, a small tree, piggy bank, book, comics, Thunderbirds' Tracey Island, etc! Quite a haul!
My brother Dave brought down the remaining boxes we sent to his house from China 6 months ago, including some of my sci-fi collection.
